McSorley's Stove

On a cold day like today, this is a very inviting scene. McSorley's has this wood burning stove that throws out a great heat. I don't know of many places that can boast a feature such as this. This is also another sketch that could be joined with the Solo drinkers and Solo drinker sketches to make one panoramic scene as I was in pretty much the same spot learning against the bar.

I have sat at that very table sipping beer and munching crackers! 6 years ago already ... Wonderfully detailed and evocative sketch.

I know I would love McSorleys if I visited it. Also, I really love your artwork--the red and black pencil combination in your work is outstanding not to mention your terrific people, shadows and reflections.

I totally agree with Terry. What a great style and the red and black create such a PUB mood. I want to hang out there and have a beer.

What wonderful vignettes you share with us. I want to experience McSorley's like E-J sipping beer and munching crackers next to the potbelly stove.

OK everybody, let's make a date a go drinking at McSorley's. I have plenty other worthwhile taverns to visit as well, stay tuned and thanks for all your comments, it is so encouraging to hear from you.

Your drawings are amazing. I love the ones in the bar, etc. Fantastic. I'm studying your drawings, as I'm interested in learning more about pen and ink and the techniques you've used.

Your work is absolutely amazing! Thanks for following my blog!
McSorleys looks like a store I used to visit as a child. I remember the heat still from that wood heater as if I were standing there now. Thank you for that wonderful memory.
