Angie contains her enthusiasm

So I'm posting 2 drawings today, not in my usual style because they have a habit of confiscating my inks at the airports (Don't get me Started). But now we're in Vegas with lots to Draw, so here goes.

airport bar

I love airport bars. The anticipation and time to kill, sound like a beer to me.

So long Manhattan

So here's the deal. we're going on vaction today and from tomorrow all postings should be drawings done on the trip (internet willing). If I miss a day i'll make up for it by posting an extra drawing. The drawing part will not be a problem. Stay tuned as I head for an adventure. We start the trip in Vegas and take a car to... i don't want to spoil the suprise.
Stay cool

I didn't see any fire and the engine took off on me before I was finnished. That's life

Ed

This is Ed, and if he doesn't look impressed it's because he just logged on to find out how the Yankees are doing.

Berlin Wall

One of the great things about working in midtown Manhattan is, you get to eat your lunch while gazing at a section of the Berlin Wall. It realy makes you think long and hard about what kind of sandwhich you should eat.
I think my tuna salad sent just the right message to those communists.

Tree

Okay, it's monday and we're all back to the grind stone but take some time out and meditate on this tree. The weekend is only 5 days away. Oh and Wimbeldon starts today which means it's rainning in England

Sunday

Sometimes less is more. I didn't have too much time to do this one of Angie sleeping in a deck chair but since I have a habit of overworking, I like the simple line and lack of tone. A complete contrast to yesterday's tonal study.

St Dymphnas

This is one of my favourite East Village bars. Ive logged alot of time in this place and when in the village my legs seem to take me there without my consent. It's on 8th st between 1st and A. I was waiting for Angie in there yesterday. This is Mark intent on a crossword puzzle, nice guy with a bulldog who allowed me to draw him. I never ask permission to draw people I just get on with it and hope they are cool. Mark was cool.

A quick pint

Some times you just want to go to a Quite place for a quick pint. No crowds no noise. This is such a place and I'm real happy with the loose quality of this drawing. Loose as it is I'll pay big money to anyone who can name the bar.

Susie

This is a drawing of my friend Susie on the occasion of her birthday. She's a great writer and comedian and my blogging guru. You should go visit her site and see what's doing. I really like this drawing and I'm sure it won't be the last you'll see of Susie on this site. She also took the photo of me for my profile.

Society of Illustrators

Last night I was able to go to life drawing at the Society of Illustrators, I haven't gone in a couple of years since the MA program but it always a great evening with great people. I'll be going every week from now on, life withstanding.

Suduko

I'm not sure of the spelling of Suduko but in any case, this is my number 2 mum "sudukoing" up in Sullivan county. Does anybody know how to spell Suduko.

Hummer

These have got to be the most ridiculas cars in the world. As I was drawing this one, a tiny woman climbs into it and pulls out of the parking space oblivious to the fact that she clips the car in front setting off the car alarm. You got to love New York.

Escape from New York

After a minor cat incident we were eventualy able to come away this weekend to stay with friends. This is my first remote blog. I intend to blog on the road this summer so this is my dry run.

Fruit Stand

It's not just hot dogs, although this guy didn't seem to be selling much fruit. These carts and stands are really great drawing subjects.

Vendor

When it's so nice outside, I sit on a wall on 53rd st and Park Ave and draw these vending wagons. They are everywhere you look in the city.

Car wash

I didn't get much drawing time on this one because these guys are so quick. I'm going to have to go back without a car next time. Bring a sandwhich and stay for the day.

Overpass

Once again at Yankee Stadium. It seems that the Yankees are making a come back so maybe this hotdog vendor might get a little action of his own.

Jeter Girls

I was in one of the bars that are under the 6 train over pass at Yankee Stadium when I saw these young diciples.
That Derek Jeter is one lucky guy.

libby

okay, It's a bad visual pun. Maybe he'll get the same kind of treatment that Paris got and will be sent home by the weekend with some ankle jewelery.

Park Slope Brooklyn

Since it's opening day and all I'm adding another drawing. Brookyln is now quite the holiday destination, I guess that's why my life feels like one big holiday these days.

Franklin & Park

Hey Guys, this is the first of my daily postings. I'll be adding one drawing a day from now on so keep checking back. I welcome your comments and look forward to hearing from you. The above drawing was done in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and shows alternate side of the street parking in full effect.
