X Files
A couple of things here, firstly I can't quite get my head around the evening blogging so I'm going back to mornings. I keep forgetting that I haven't blogged yet so I'm in danger of skipping by default. Secondly this is a really old book jacket I did for Random House about 16 years ago and although they excepted the artwork and paid me they decided to go in another direction and this became the very first book cover job I lost to photoshop, soon to be joined by many others of course. I got quite excited about it at first because I had already become an avid viewer of the TV program(such is life).
I gave the original painting to my good friends Hans and J9 despite the fact that the original would be worth $100,000,000,000,000.49 on eBay. Hans, you owe me a pint.

LOL...no doubt...that damn photoshop! I know the feeling...architects and designers are farming out renderings half way around the world, at amazingly low prices. Bummer. Teh good thing is, some will always like hand dwg and rending...
This one is amazing! Nuf said.
Thanks Michelle, one can only hope that things turn around but each time I say that I feel like a blacksmith who is so sure the automobile is just a fad. Thanks again.
Wow... I know you're serious because you've calculated the value down to the 49th cent! or is Hong Kong dollar which would mean it is worth about $12.50.
PhotoShop images will never be auctioned at Sotheby's and you'll always have us admiring your awesome talent.
Actually Steve, I only got a fraction of that for it in eBay. Enough for a small yacht, that's all. Nothing too ostentatious. Left a gap on my wall though... Got anything else you want to give us? Dude!
Snogs from J9, its her birthday tomorrow.
Sheila- you are too kind by far, thanks.
Hans- I'm going to send you those drawings this week I hope you are not holding your breath though. Happy Birthday to J9, it's mine and Angie's 4th wedding anniversary today, that is the quickest 4 years of my life.
I was a big fan of the show too. You really captured them. But don't blame Photoshop... It's a conspiracy with our government and little green aliens that's hurting the illustration market... The truth is out there.
That's what I heard too. Makes you think.
Ah, Here it is at last. I'm glad I finally got to see it after hearing about it so long ago. Nicely done, sir, truly their loss. (and Hans's gain...)
If you're a blacksmith—then I'm waiting for oil to dry up too....Cars, who'da thunk it? Still waiting for rediscovery-
Jeff
Hey Jeff, I'm thinking our time has to come around again. Hope to see you soon good sir.
