Just getting in under the wire with this one for a Sunday posting. I don't know exactly what this is but the woman who sold it to me said it was good for cleaning your nose with. I brought it anyway and it's sketch of the day whatever it does.
It's a neti jug and an extremely nice one at that. Basically you fill it with a pint of warm water which has previously been boiled and add enough salt to make it taste like the sea. Then you lean forwards and tilt your head sideways and pour the water in through one nostril and let it all pour itself out through the other. You dry off by huffing and puffing through your nose until your head clears.
It's one of those yogic practices which is far more about disgusting bodily functions than inner spiritual harmony. Still inner spiritual harmony's hard with a head-cold. :-D
