Plein Air Painting

We had a make up class with Peter Cusack on Sunday, it was such a great way to spend an afternoon. We are going to having another session next Sunday which I'm already looking forward to. I've never done this before but I hope to make a habit out of it.

From the trip home last night. I really like these Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens. I haven't used one in a while and forgot how much fun they are.

I had to dig a bit for this one, I'm falling behind a little on the drawing thing as i pursue some other projects. I like this paper though, it seems to do half the work for you.

Iona

Here is one I did finish although this is not the finished version. Apparently I didn't shoot the final version before I handed it over. This was done as a commission for my friend Amanda to give to her Husband, my friend Bob on the occasion of there 2ND wedding anniversary. It's the bar in which they met. Happy anniversary guys.

Grand Army Plaza

Here is the other painting I'm working on. Right now it seems like I'm great at starting paintings and lousy at finishing them. I have to do something about that so I'm not starting any new oil paintings until I finish the four I have on the go.

Williamsburg

I missed another post yesterday but I am on vacation after all and yesterday I had to go back to the city to take a class with the brilliant Steve Brodner so time was limited. Steve is going to help me whip my bar book into shape which I'm really excited about, no more procrastination.
Above is another oil painting I'm working on, I've got two on the go whilst we are away. Angie has been working on some paintings as well so expect to see those soon too. It's Sunday, it's raining, it's beautiful and so are you.

Here is that tree again. I sit out on the porch and this is what I see, the light on it changes from moment to moment, I could draw it again and again.

This might be my favorite tree, it is the focal point from the porch at the house we rent upstate. I did this painting this morning with my cup ot tea and all is right with the world.

I'm Back

I missed a couple of days because we are upstate this week and the first few days we had guests and there were kids running around and it was all too much fun, no time for drawing although I did a bit of plein air painting With my friend Edgar and his daughter which was crazy fun. Anyway today we have the house to our selves and I plan to get some work done. We'll see.
