Steve, do you start off with a rough sketch, getting in the main characterising features and work into it depending on how long the subject stays on the train. I guess it must be like that? Actualy that's a daft question but perhaps the answer isn't obvious.
Munich Newman, the only daft question is the one you don't ask, although I've always though "is the only daft question the one you don't ask?" is a pretty daft question. In answer to your daft question, I start by drawing the shape of the head and then it's a question of what I can get dome from there.
