McSorley's

Can't say enough good things about this place. It opened in 1854 and survived prohibition. Reeks of history,a must if you live in New York or if your'e a tourist, which is why I don't go near the place at weekends. Best sampled during the week at lunchtimes when you can see the place for what it is, a living museum.

Beautiful drawing. Very atomshereic, one thing- wasn't probition in the 1920s- so it opened before the 1950s? Maybe 1850s?
Love that historic place!
