I had to rework some sketches for a project about which I will have more to say later. Subway drawing is a big part of my sketching routine.

Book Cover

Another recent book cover, I was quite lucky last year with the amount I was given to do, i hope for even more this year, fingers crossed.

100 Book Covers

I have painted over 200 book covers and when I started out I would buy them as I saw to build a collection, I can't remember how many I had when I lost them all in a move but it was a goodly amount. I can't recall the titles or the authors of a great many but I recently have been re-buying the ones I can recall on Amazon for 99 cents a pop, here is what the first hundred look like.

Weehawken

I created this painting to raise money for a school in Weehawken, its an updated version of an Edward Hopper painting of the same street, Hopper's was done in 1939 and was sold at auction recently for $40,000,000, mine was auctioned on Ebay for considerably less, the lady in the newspaper photo who lives in the large white house bought my painting which was very cool, she is sandwiched between both mine and Hopper's version.

The Carriage House

This place sits just back from the Delaware river, good food and beer, great staff, good times.

Book Cover

This is the cover for the first in a series of books by Alyssa Maxwell, it's called "Murder At The Breakers" I've just finished painting the second in the series so I'll post that soon, i love to paint these covers.

The Mars Bar

This is the Mars Bar, sadly gone from the Lower East Side and very much missed, when it comes to dive bars, this one was a man amongst boys.

Rosie

This is the finished painting of the sketch I posted earlier, I really love to process of painting these up. Many more to come I hope, that's the plan anyway.

This is Melisa pulling me a pint, a study in grace and poise, i have been very much enjoying this series.

The Iron Monkey

This is my favorite New Jersey bar, The Iron Monkey, I tried to make the painting be a fin as the bar is, if you ever take the path train to Exchange Place, pop in for a drink.

Paris Street Scene

Happy New Year everybody, ok it's been a long while again since I posted. I make no promises about daily posting but I have lots of new pieces to share, both drawings and paintings. Once again best wishes for the new year and thanks for continuing to stop by even when you haven't seen anything new for a while.
Also, this is a painting I made form a bunch of photos I took on a recent trip to Paris, I'd never seen like quite like this.
