Malibu

I'm back from LA and here is the first drawing. This should be me back on a daily role but the best laid plans of mice and men and all that. LA was a load of fun, 12 of us rented the two bedroom two bathroom house right on the beach front, this drawing is from the deck beneath the house. I will remember this trip first and foremost for the laughter which never stopped (unless decorum dictated otherwise).

I just noticed that the ribbon from the Moleskine is laying across the drawing, I'd rescan but then again red eye and all that, also it seems to be supporting the composition.

Hey there Professor! Great drawing, and I do agree about the ribbon, I felt that it was part of the drawing too! It does tie in the drawing well, you should definitely leave it!

great painting. Puts me in mind of some great illustrations from magazines of the late 50's early 60's.

I've been wondering for a while about your palette setup for these sketches. I remember you showing your Bijou box in class but I can't really pinpoint any exact pigments.

To be honest Elixia, I swiped it from my wife and it's so old I couldn't tell you what colors are in there. There are 21 colors in all though.

"Bieber" is German for "Beaver", that means Justin Beaver is an interesting name. Steve, you like chicken don't you?

Oh, and I really like the drawing.

Not sure about the year, luckily we're not still in the early 21st century though- all that stuff to get through back then, wow.

Quite enjoying this Google TimeWhallop software.
