Six Degrees Of Kevin Spacey

Another painting demo for my class at FIT. Slowly building the values and refining the details only at the last step. I like to bring the whole painting up at the same time. I had about two and a half hours of painting time in class and finished with another 45 minutes when I got home.
This is from a shot taken during filming the "House Of Cards" a dark character, a dark painting.

John Hurt Demo

I usually take about 10 steps to do a demo, this one went a great deal faster, only 5 steps, largely because I was using a larger brush and trying merely to match values and spare the details. I've often been accused of missing a few good stopping places, I'm trying to cure that.

Everybody loves a bit of gossip, these two talked all the way from Crown Heights to the Upper East Side, largely about a daughter  who doesn't call or doesn't write unless she needs money that is.
Something like that anyway.

This couple didn't move too much for 45 minutes or so, I wish all commuters would be so accommodating.

The Artichoke

I painted this one for my dad, it's the pub where he and my mum go for a drink most days, an absolute beauty. I'm looking forward to being back for a pint in there myself later this year.
