Mr Grant

To describe things as chaotic right now just doesn't do it justice, I'm out of sketches for the moment but aim to get something done today and will certainly be hard at it over the next week or so. In the mean time here is Cary Grant whose real name was?

Wasn't it "Cat Bugler" ta-ra, ta-ra.

It should have been.

An interestingly different piece from you Steve, going back a bit I reckon.

He came from Bristol. Do I win as well?

That's right...he was born in Horfield and went to Bishop Road Primary in Bristol to be precise...do I get a small cut of whatever's on offer for that smidgen of priceless information?

He ran away from home when he was 13 you know. Went to New York when he was 16 or 17, must have been lovely there in 1920.
Hans, Steve C, see you down the pub, it's NY-Steve's round I believe. Perhaps Bob will be there too.

I also just remembered that he lived in Picton Street in Montpelier, Bristol for a short while...oh yes, a quick google confirms it along with other CG trivia: http://www.carygrant.net/trivia/tour.htm

Perhaps cocktails at The Belvedere, 319 West 48th Street, NY would be more suitable Fraser?

Glad you got the books by the way. Looking forward to sausage...

Sounds good, just a matter of when.
NY-Steve can sketch the cocktails before we drink them perhaps.

Will source sausage and send swiftly.

Stephen Gardner said...

Dudes, where my sausage. You are all winners in my book.

I'll be there this afternoon.

Could be a case of "catch-up"...
