Hey Mimi, these are considered thumbnail sketches although they are a bit more elaborate than that. They are six ideas based on a concept from the art director, now it is up to that person to pick one or a combination of these to go to the next step. I'll bring all this into class on Wednesday.
Here are 6 sketches for a new book cover project, it's the first step in the process and I expect there will be more sketches to do.
